Summit of Two Valleys

Moon peak is a high rise in the Dhauladhar range of Himachal Pradesh, it is one of the mountain that dominates the whole Kangra valley. Standing tall at an elevation of 4900 meters Moon peak is a tough climb and it requires some technical assistance to summit it. The climb is done from the South side before we cross Indrahar pass and then it is attempted from the north side. There are lots of trekkers who visit the foot hills of moon peak as they make their way to Triund and Snowline a very popular destination, however moon peak is something very few attempt to climb because of its amazing prominence.

itinerary
Day 01 : Arrive Bhagsu nag

We Expect you to arrive at Bhagsu nag by evening, in the evening we will introduce you to our team and brief you about our action plan. Accommodation in hotel

Day 02 : Bhagsu nag (1900 m) to Triund (2972)

Our journey will start from the famous vacation place of Bhagsu. we will follow a paved road initially which will take us to a forest route towards the Gallu temple, from this point many small tea shops are there on the way and the trail is an easy ascent. Triund is a very famous location as well and you may find a lot of people here in the day time however, by evening the people will decrease as the day hikers would return back. Accommodation in Camp.

Day 03 : Triund to Laka Got (3352 m)

Today we will start early, initially the ascent is tiring which gradually becomes an easy walk through the forest until we reach above tree line and enter the meadow where an old shop is present, we will take some rest here and proceed towards further. the trail from here is a gradual descend over the ridge that connects the Laka got to the foot of Indrahar pass, soon we will reach a roughly flat terrain which is full of grasslands and boulders. the view of Indrahar pass and the majestic Moon peak dominates the view.

Day 04 : Laka Got to Lahesh caves (3708 m)

This is a very easy day as we will be covering a very small distance of 3 km in total. the walk is a gradual ascent, the cave is made out of huge boulders crashing onto each other and resting in such a way that it creates enough space for 20-25 people to stay in it. also, the cave is not closed from all ends and has a very low roof that makes it a very difficult place to stay however, the shepherds use this cave for their stay and it adds to the experience of the mountains and the old gaddi(shepherds) culture

Day 05 : Lahesh caves to Indrahar Pass (4350 m) to Moon peak (4900 m) to Laka got

Today is a challenging day as we will be heading towards the summit of moon peak, we will start in the dark hours of the night under the head lamps. The trail is roughly marked by cairns at some points and it is a very steep ascend to the pass with no flat sections at all. Indrahar pass can be a tough challenge for week hearted as the trail gets very steep under the pass and giant boulders are always visible around the edges. the view of whole kangra valley while ascending is a treat that keeps you delighted. After making to the top of the pass we will descend Sharply and traverse to reach right under the Moon peak and we Use fixed ropes to climb the last section to the summit. The view of the Chamba side that shows Pir Pinjal range is breath-taking and the valley below carries a vastness in it. Soon we will descend back to the same trail and try to reach Laka got and camp there for the night.

Day 06 : Reserve day

This day we will keep in reserve for any kind of situation that may arise in the mountains.

Day 07 : Laka got to Bhagsu nag

Following the same route to descend back to the Bhagsu nag via Triund. Our journey Concludes here
